Summertime brings out the farmers’ markets, with fresh locally grown produce and other specialty items. Wherever you are in the Southern Tier, a farmer’s market is nearby. Here is a list to get you started:

The Broome County Regional Farmers Market, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturdays, year-round, 840 Upper Front St., Binghamton, N.Y. Come buy fresh produce and goods from local farmers and enjoy great food, wine and beer tasting, and take a stroll through the nearby gardens.

The Owego Farmers Market, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays through end of October,153 Main St., Owego, N.Y., (Walgreens parking lot.) Specializing in seasonal local fruits, vegetables, jams and jellies, and sometimes potted plants.

The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce Farmer’s Market, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Fridays through mid-October, at Muldoon Park, 451 Pennsylvania Ave., Waverly, N.Y. Find locally grown produce and plants, baked goods, meats, eggs, honey, hard cider, one of a kind craft and gift items, jewelry, bird houses, health and skin care, goats milk soap, and a variety of food.

The Wellsboro Growers Market is open from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 13 on the front lawn of the First Presbyterian Church at 130 Main Street in Wellsboro, Pa., next to the Green Free Library, weather permitting.
