The search continues in Pennsylvania for a man that state police say led them on a chase before fleeing from troopers and leaving his child behind.

Troopers say they tried to stop a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Shawn Palmer for multiple traffic violations Thursday night in Sheshequin Township. They say Palmer, from Athens, has a suspended license and is on parole.

Officials say he refused to stop and then led troopers on a chase, in which he hit a mailbox, cow fence and tree, causing major damage to the vehicle.

They say Palmer then fled the scene on foot, leaving his 3-year-old son behind. It’s unclear if the boy was injured. There’s an active felony arrest warrant for Palmer. Anyone with information on the location of the suspect is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda.
