Lake Effect Snow Advisory/Warning for Tuesday

Cold temperatures and lake effect snow could cause some travel problems in the Southern Tier Tuesday.
The National Weather Service at Binghamton has issued a lake effect snow advisory for most of our listening area, including Tioga and Broome counties. The weather service says anywhere between 1 and 3 inches of blowing snow is possible through the day today. Temperatures are only expected to get into the teens, with those strong winds contributing to a wind chill of zero or below.
The weather service says the most snow is possible in Newark Valley, Richford and the northern parts of Broome County.
A lake effect snow warning is in place for Cortland and Tompkins counties, where 6 to 12 inches of snow is possible by early Wednesday.
Stay tuned for the latest from the Southern Tier’s emergency information station, News Radio, WEBO.
