On Feb. 28, Broome County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute in the Westover area of the Town of Union, where a suspect reportedly fled from the scene to 186 Grand Ave., Johnson City. As a result, Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed a search warrant at the location and recovered approximately 13 grams of crack cocaine, one pound of marijuana, several ounces of concentrated cannabis and a loaded .40 caliber handgun.

 

Two people were charged with the following crimes.

• Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law section 220.09 sub 1, a Class C Felony (2 Counts)
• Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the 2nd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law section 221.25, a Class D Felony
• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law section 220.50 sub 3, a Class A Misdemeanor
• Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law section 220.50 sub 2, a Class A Misdemeanor (2 Counts)
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law Section 265.02 sub 1, a Class D Felony
• Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law Section 265.03 sub 1b, a Class C Felony
• Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree in violation of NYS Penal Law Section 215.50 sub 3, a Class A Misdemeanor

Imes and Rahmee were arraigned at the Centralized Arraignment Center and remanded to the Broome County jail. Officers that responded to the dispute in Westover were aware the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force had been conducting an extended investigation into the Westover and Grand Avenue locations.

 

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force is comprised of members of the Village of Endicott Police Department, Broome County Sheriff’s Office, the City of Binghamton Police Department and the Village of Johnson City Police Department. The Broome County Special Investigations Unit was assisted by the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, The Johnson City Police Department and the Johnson City Police Department’s CAT Unit.
