Chemung County law enforcement, the Traffic Safety Board and the Southern Tier Bicycle League have partnered again this summer to promote safe bicycling among youths by issuing an “ice cream ticket” to youngsters spotted wearing a protective helmet while riding a bicycle. This is done with the hope of encouraging all bicyclists, regardless of age, to wear bicycle helmets and other protective gear, as aaproptiate, to keep themselves safe when riding a bicycle.

These businesses are participating in this summer’s program: The Dairy Barn, Fair Shake, Lickety Split, Rita’s Water Ice, Serendipity Ice Cream & Coffee, Sweet Frog Yogurt and Last Stand.
