Robert Allen wrote this afternoon on GoFundMe that 11-year-old Trinity Allen has died following the serious wreck on Route 17 (near the Waverly-Sayre exit) on Sunday. (Her brother, Zachary Allen) died at the scene. Zachary attended Owego Elementary School and Trinity attended Owego-Apalachin Middle School.)
This morning the doctors did their second examination of Trinity to measure brain activity. Unfortunately, the test confirmed what we’ve known and felt since she was flown to Syracuse, that our little girl isn’t there anymore. She always played and pretended to be a superhero with superpowers and now she’ll get that chance as we have decided to donate her organs and hopefully Trinity can live on and give another child an opportunity to live a fulfilling life.
We’d like to thank everyone who have generously given not only monetary gifts, but holding our family and children up in prayer. This is by far the most difficult thing we’ve ever dealt with and we appreciate everything that has been offered and done for us and our family.
It’s been evident by the outpouring of support that Zachary and Trinity touched so many lives. From friends, families, neighbors, teachers, and school mates, our 2 babies have made a lasting imprint on so many people. The way people have bonded together and rallied behind our family give us a renewed sense of hope that everything will eventually be okay.
When the GoFundMe account was set up following the crash, this statement was posted:
On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Robert and Kathy were awaiting the return of their two youngest children, Zach (7) and Trinity (11) as their other Mom, Darlene brought them back from spending the day with her. On the way home, a deer jumped in front of their car. While stopped, a tractor trailer hit their car. Little Zach died at the scene and Trinity was transported to Syracuse where they have tried to help her as much as possible, but she has had no brain activity since the accident.
Please consider contributing to the many expenses this sweet family will have to face during this nightmare of a time. Kathy and Robert have been the most loving parents to their 7 kids, and made them their whole world. Their entire family is heartbroken as they face this devastating loss.
Please join me in lifting my sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Robert and their family in love and support during this extremely difficult time.
