An indictment was unsealed Monday in Tioga County court that charged a Pennsylvania man with the death of a local DOT worker. 37-year-old Lawrence
Faucett, of Ulster, was charged with criminally negligent homicide. He pleaded not guilty and was released pending further court action.
On March 13, Dennis “Matt” Howe, of Owego, was assisting with pothole repair work on Route 17 in the Town of Nichols, when the DOT vehicle he was in was struck by a passing tractor-trailer being operated by Faucett. Howe was airlifted to a hospital where he later died.
