The son of a former Onondaga County Sheriff’s candidate is in serious condition after being shot by state police Saturday night.
Toby Shelley confirms that his son, 23-year old Joel Shelley of Marietta, was involved in a confrontation with police and was shot in the town of Barton. According to investigators, troopers were interviewing the 23-year old when he threatened them with a shotgun and took off in his car.
