Waverly Elm Street Elementary School Student Died in ATV Accident

According to a post on the Waverly Central School District website, a student at the district’s Elm Street Elementary School was killed in an accident Sunday. Superintendent Eric Knolles wrote: “It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of one of our Elm Street Elementary students. We have been in contact with the family and are respectfully giving them privacy during their time of grief. We have counselors and school psychologists at school to help your children and our school community through this difficult time.”

The boy was identified as Jagger Joseph Roberts-Wright, 8, “Jag-Man-Do” of Waverly, on the website of the¬†Blauvelt Funeral Home, Waverly. The boy died in an ATV accident on Sunday, according to his obituary. News outlets have reported he was competing in an ATV race in the Town of Montour, Schuyler County, when he crashed into a tree.

A time of calling will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4 to 6 PM at Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Greater Valley Assembly of God, 104 S. Main Street, Athens, PA with Pastor Chris Gray officiating.
