Former President Donald Trump went on a social media tirade Sunday and Monday after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
Trump complained that it was unfair to the Republican Party to have to face a new opponent and suggested Biden should resign on as president if he can’t run for reelection.
“The Democrats pick a candidate, Crooked Joe Biden, he loses the Debate badly, then panics, and makes mistake after mistake, is told he can’t win, and decide they will pick another candidate, probably Harris. They stole the race from Biden after he won it in the primaries — A First! These people are the real THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.
Trump also insisted Biden never had COVID-19. The President’s doctor said Biden had COVID-19 and was treated with Paxlovid.
“Who is running our Country right now? It’s not Crooked Joe, he has no idea where he is,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “If he can’t run for office, he can’t run our Country!!!”
Trump said the GOP should be reimbursed by Democrats.
“So, we are forced to spend time and money on fighting Crooked Joe Biden, he polls badly after having a terrible debate, and quits the race. Now we have to start all over again,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Shouldn’t the Republican Party be reimbursed for fraud in that everybody around Joe, including his doctors and the Fake News Media, knew he was not capable of running for, or being, President? Just askin’?”
Trump said the June 27 debate was the turning point. At the presidential debate, Biden faltered, misspoke, trailed off, and sometimes seemed incoherent. Trump said Biden had been looking for a way out since that performance.
“No, he wanted to get out ever since June 27, the night of The Debate, where he was completely obliterated,” Trump wrote on social media. “That was the big moment in Joe Biden’s demise. That was the point in time when Joe was revealed for what he is, an incompetent man who should never have been President. Joe Biden is not fit to serve – He is destroying our Country!”
Biden dropped out Sunday afternoon and gave his support to Vice President Kamala Harris.
