Andrew Cuomo has won a third term as governor over Marc Molinaro in a huge landslide. The margin of victory was in excess of 15 points. US Senator Kirsten Gillibrand also won re-election by about 30 points. Letitia James won election as New York’s Attorney General. Thomas DiNapoli was re-elected Comptroller.
In Pennsylvania, Governor Tom Wolf was re-elected to a second term. Senator Bob Casey won a third term.
In races for the US Congress:
Tom Reed won re-election in the 23rd Congressional district, defeating Tracey Mitrano.
Anthony Brindisi defeated incumbent Claudia Tenney in the 19th district. Tenney has refused to concede the loss.
State Senator Fred Akshar and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo each ran unopposed. Assemblyman Clifford Crouch easily defeated Nick Libous, son of the former State Senator.
Broome County Sheriff David Harder won re-election against Matt Ryan.
