(The Center Square) – Patrick McDonnell, who previously served as secretary of the state Department of Environmental Protection, spoke in favor of Gov. Josh Shapiro’s ‘Lightning” energy plan.
McDonnell, who is now president and CEO of PennFuture, was one of the state officials tasked with shepherding Pennsylvania into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Iniaitive in accordance with former Gov. Tom Wolf’s executive order.
The state’s entry into the carbont tax program is mired in litigation, though Shapiro has proposed his own state-specific version instead.
