A Deposit man is in jail for allegedly attacking a woman at a motel. Deputies with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office responded to the East Branch Motel in Hancock on April 29 for a domestic dispute. Authorities say they were told the victim had escaped from the attacker and had locked herself in another motel room with another person. When deputies arrived, 31-year-old Donald Ostrander, had run away from the motel. Ostrander, who is from Deposit, was found in a wooded area near the motel by deputies. According to officials, Ostrander used a knife in the domestic dispute and had a gun in his possession. Ostrander was sent to the Delaware County Jail on multiple charges where he is being held on $10,000 bail. The victim was treated for minor injuries and released from a local hospital
