The Elmira man who killed his pregnant ex-girlfriend will spend 25-years to life in prison. Arteamus Wells was sentenced this morning in Chemung County Court. A jury convicted Wells of murder last month. Prosecutors say he strangled Erin Jade Smith in her Hathorn Court apartment last December. She was 19 at the time and five months pregnant.
