A Big Flats man has been killed during a home invasion.60-year-old Timothy Webster was shot and killed in his own home early Friday morning.
The incident began when a Mansfield PA man attempted to abduct a woman in Corning at gunpoint around 9 o’clock Thursday evening. The woman quickly escaped, but the suspect stole her vehicle.
The man, identified by police as 32-year-old Curtis Burrows later abandoned the vehicle before breaking into the Webster residence in the Town of Big Flats. That’s when Webster was shot and killed in his Reasor Hollow Road home.
Burrows stole Webster’s truck and fled the scene. Webster’s wife called 9-1-1. The stolen vehicle report helped in locating the vehicle in Pennsylvania at about 4AM.
The suspect had apparently crashed the vehicle, and was then apprehended at a local hospital in Mansfield where he sought treatment for his injuries.
Police are still investigating. They have not released a motive.
