Body of Missing Student Found in Cohocton

The State Police in Wayland announce they have recovered the remains of college student George Delany, 21, who was reported missing March 15th.
Two people hiking in a wooded area found his body off Campbell Road and Oil Well Hollow Road in Cohocton.
Police say they also found a tool box filled with personal belongings that Delaney took with him when he left his car.
They have not yet located his cell phone.
Troopers were notified on Sunday at about 6:45pm.
Delany’s disappearance triggered an extensive search for the Maryland native.
The Steuben County Coroner removed the remains and transported them to the Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and made a positive identification.
The Medical Examiner has not been able to determine a preliminary cause of death.
