A Brooklyn man has been charged with 9 felony charges after he was found in possession of counterfeit money after a traffic stop. 25-year-old Mamadou Barry was observed using an electronic device while he was driving and speeding on State Highway 28 in Oneonta. When the trooper attempted a traffic stop, Barry threw paper-like objects out the vehicle window. Other troopers and a deputy from the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department assisted in retrieving the items, which were counterfeit $50 and $100 bills. An investigation determined that Berry used counterfeit bills at three businesses in the southside area of Oneonta. Barry was subsequently arrested and arraigned in the town of Oneonta Court. He was remanded to the Otsego County Jail on $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bail bond.
