Daughter Takes Plea Deal in Murder of Mother

The daughter charged in the death of her Corning mother has taken a plea deal to testify against her father.Karrie Neurauter will receive a sentence of 15 years to life, in exchange for her testimony. She was charged with second degree murder.Prosecutors say Karrie admitted that her father, Lloyd Neurauter, confronted her with an ultimatum last August, asking her to help kill his estranged wife, Michele Neurauter, or he would kill himself.The Steuben County District Attorney’s office says the daughter was not physically involved in her mother’s death, but drove her father to and from the scene, disconnected electronic devices, and distracted a younger sibling.The mother was found dead in her home. Investigators say the death was staged to look like a suicide.The daughter will remain in Steuben County Jail until sentencing.The father is scheduled to go on trial in September. He’s charged with first degree murder and several other charges.
