Former New York Gov. David Paterson has paid $62,124 to settle his fine from the state ethics board over free Yankees tickets he obtained for the 2009 World Series.
Paterson requested and received the tickets from the Yankees without charge, but had no official function at the game.
He had originally stated that he intended to pay for the tickets, but this statement was contradicted by testimony from members of his staff and Yankee officials.
