Former Hartwick College Professor Dies in Oneonta Fire

A former Hartwick College professor, Norma Hutman, died following an early morning fire in Oneonta.
Firefighters were called to a home on Main Street just before 6 a.m. Saturday.
Crews found heavy fire throughout the home on arrival, and had to tap an additional water supply at the Susquehanna River to fight the flames.
Hutman, a Buffalo native, moved to Oneonta and taught for 32 years before retiring.
An investigation is being conducted to determine what caused the fire.
