The New York State Police arrested 36-year-old Matthew Mazepa, of Harpursville following an investigation in the City of Binghamton. As the result of the investigation, Mazepa was found to be in possession of a DPMS LR-308 semi-automatic assault rifle with scope and tripod, five ounces of crystal methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine, marihuana, ammunition for the .308 rifle and drug paraphernalia. Mazepa was charged with two counts of felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, two felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Tampering with physical evidence, and several misdemeanors. Mazepa was arraigned in the City of Binghamton Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
