New York State Police report success on their recent crackdown on drunk driving over the holidays. They report issuing more than 33,000 traffic tickets statewide and making a total of 538 arrests for driving while intoxicated. Troopers operated 29 sobriety checkpoints in a campaign which began December 14th and continued through the holidays until January 1st. State police also said they made arrests for providing alcohol to minors.
