An Alabama man who has been on the run since he escaped from prison four years ago may now be in Tompkins County.
34-year-old Jerry Randall Myrick escaped from an Alabama prison in 2006. He was serving an 18-year sentence for theft and driving under the influence.
Acting on a tip, State Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office confirmed his presence in the area after finding weapons and a large amount of marijuana at his last known location.
Myrick is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The sheriff’s office has not said what Myrick’s connection is to Tompkins County. They are asking anyone who may have seen the man to call them at 272-2444.
