An Amber Alert was issued for over twenty counties across New York on Monday after 16-year-old Cassidy Geffert was reportedly abducted in Rochester shortly after ten o’clock Monday morning.
The Greece Town Police Department reported that Geffert was abducted by someone driving a black four-door Saab sedan, and police suspected the vehicle was traveling to Ohio. Geffert had reportedly left a note for her parents indicating that she was in danger, and the note was said to have had blood on it. The family’s pistol was taken from the home. However, later in the day the Amber Alert was canceled, and Greece Police announced that Geffert was under arrest and being charged with fourth-degree grand larceny for stealing the gun from her home. She was found safe in nearby Brockport, NY.
