Anniversary committee formed to celebrate 100 years of suffrage

15556363_10211052808657232_1438794775_o2017 is the 100-year anniversary of woman gaining the right to vote in New York State, and as a result a special suffrage anniversary committee has been created in Broome and Tioga Counties. Tioga County Legislative Chair Martha Sauerbrey is joining New York Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo in heading up this committee. The goal of the Broome-Tioga Suffrage Anniversary Committee is to hold a series of events to commemorate the historic milestone in our nation’s history. The committee is currently in the process of collecting photos, stories, and other items. Anyone with photos, stories, or other items are encouraged to email the committee at [email protected].
