A Pennsylvania court has denied an appeal from Steven Colegrove.
The 32-year-old Bradford County native who last lived in Broome County, N.Y. was convicted in 2009 of killing three family members.
Colegrove was found guilty of shooting his mother, father and brother with a shotgun inside their Tuscarora Township home in 2007. Authorities say his motive was cashing in on his relative’s life insurance policies.
Colegrove is serving three life sentences.
His attorney asked for a new trial based on a lack of evidence and a potential bias when a request to move the trial out of the county was denied.
