State Police are calling the accident that killed a little boy in Greene on Thursday night a “horrible tragedy.”
23-month-old Collin Clark was struck and killed after running out into traffic on Route 12.
State Police say the boy was with family at a home when he got away and ran into the road, directly in the path of a car. The driver of the car told troopers that he tried to avoid hitting the child but could not.
The boy was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
State Police do not expect any charges to be filed. They have turned their investigation over to the Chenango County District Attorney’s Office.
