The following press release was issued by the Abuse and Rape Crisis Center of Bradford County last week:

The Abuse and Rape Crisis Center (ARCC) reaffirms our unwavering commitment to all survivors of sexual violence in light of the recent release of former Bradford County District Attorney Chad Salsman from state prison on April 18, 2025.

We understand that this development may be deeply distressing for many, particularly during Sexual Assault Awareness Month — a time dedicated to elevating the voices and experiences of survivors. For some, this news may reawaken trauma, fear, or a profound sense of injustice. For others, it may simply be a painful reminder of what they have endured or witnessed. Wherever you find yourself in this moment, we want you to know: you are not alone.

To the brave individuals who came forward, to those whose voices remain unheard, and to every person who has experienced sexual violence in any form — your strength matters. Your story matters. You deserve care, justice, and healing.

At ARCC, we are here to provide that care. Our services are free, confidential, and available to anyone impacted by sexual violence. We offer trauma-informed counseling, legal and medical advocacy, 24-hour crisis response, and compassionate support designed to meet survivors where they are. We serve people of all genders, ages, backgrounds, and circumstances — no matter how long ago the harm occurred, and regardless of whether it was ever reported.

We recognize that the systems meant to deliver justice do not always meet the needs of survivors. In these moments, community support becomes even more critical. ARCC remains a steadfast source of safety and affirmation for survivors in Bradford County. We will continue to listen, to support, and to advocate — for healing, for justice, and for a future free of violence.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. Our 24-hour confidential hotline is always available at 570-265-5333.
