WILLIAMSPORT — The Athens girls wrestling team crowned three champions and came home with the team title at the first-ever District 4 Girls Wrestling Championships in Williamsport on Saturday.
Senior Ashlyn VanFleet, sophomore Leah Nason and freshman Abigail Wagner all won championships inside the Magic Dome at Williamsport High School.
Sophomore Hanna Rathbun finished second and juniors Emma Renninger and Mary Henry placed third. All six qualified for the Northeast Regional Tournament on March 2.
Sayre’s Layla Bennett and Northeast Bradford’s Anaiah Kolesar both won championships at Saturday’s district tournament.
