An Athens man is behind bars after he allegedly posed as a police officer and assaulted residents at a senior housing complex.

According to police, 38-year-old Joseph R. Hall was arrested on Sunday and charged with two felony counts of burglary and misdemeanor counts of simple assault, impersonating a public servant, disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal trespass.

Police officers responded to Page Manor in Athens Borough at around 7:39 p.m. on Sunday for a report of a suspicious man pounding on doors and announcing he was with the Athens Police Department.
