The Athens’ 5th grade Odyssey of the Mind team has punched its ticket to the World Finals with a second-place finish at the state competition over the weekend.
Celia Bennett, Lydia Swingle, Cecelia Shangraw, Maddison Campbell, Easton Hubbard, Jacob Cobb and Tyler Horton will now head to Michigan State University later this spring for the World Finals.
The Athens team took second place out of 13 teams in their bracket at the state competition.
The World Finals will feature teams from across the United States as well as Germany, Japan, China, Canada and other countries.
