Bradford County has issued a temporary burn ban beginning this weekend.
The county-wide burn ban will be in place starting Saturday, March 16 and stay in place until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
The ban is designed to stop the burning of materials like garbage, leaves, grass, paper and vegetative matter involved with land clearing, or any debris outdoors in a burn barrel or on the ground.
Campfires are allowed but must be in a fire ring that can confine and contain the fire while also removing flammable materials within a five-foot radius of the fire.
Fines will be issued to those who violate the burn ban with $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second offense and $300 for the third offense.
