Bradford County has exceeded the Gold Standard benchmark as part of Pennsylvania’s Broadband Ready Communities Program.

According to the Bradford Sentinel, the program was created to ensure grant-funded broadband expansion projects face no hurdles when ready for development.

The Progress Authority has been responsible for coordinating with municipalities to ensure their zoning laws or ordinances would not hinder broadband expansion in preparation for the grant program.

As of March 31st, Bradford County was the only county in the state to have all of its municipalities participate in the review process, exceeding the 85 percent participation rate required for the gold standard.

The first round of grant applications is currently under review.
