The Bradford County Commissioners approved the county’s 2025 budget last week with reductions to the Bradford County Library’s funding, staff and hours.

The county library will be allocated around $328,000, which will include funding for the Bookmobile. That is down from $471,000 in 2024.

According to The Daily Review, the library’s hours are going to be reduced from 65 to 47 hours, while the seven-member staff will be cut down from four full-time employees to one, and the rest will be part time.

Overall, the county budget is set at $71.9 million for 2025, which is a reduction of over a half million dollars from 2024. There will be no tax increase for county residents in 2025.

Commissioners Daryl Miller and Doug McLinko voted in favor of the budget, while commissioner Zachary Gates voted against the spending plan.
