The Bradford County Commissioners eliminated the Bradford County Library’s advisory committee in a 2-1 vote on Thursday.
Commissioners Daryl Miller and Doug McLinko voted to shut down the board, while Commissioner Zach Gates voted against the measure.
Gates said he felt the commissioners should have waited until they received advice from the new librarian. The county placed an advertisement last week looking for a new county library director.
McLinko said that the advisory board was no longer necessary or beneficial.
The board was dissolved effective immediately. All records and materials pertaining to the committee will be transferred to the county for safekeeping.
