SAYRE — In a heartwarming display of community support, Guthrie welcomed representatives from Dandy Mini Marts and Williams Auto Group on Monday, Nov. 11 for a special check presentation ceremony. The event celebrated the businesses’ outstanding contributions to the Guthrie Breast Care Fund, raised through dedicated fundraising campaigns in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Together, the campaigns raised $53,475 for the Guthrie Breast Care Fund, which provides vital financial assistance to individuals battling breast cancer, covering expenses such as medications, post-surgical supplies, diagnostic testing, and other essential needs not covered by insurance.
Throughout October, Dandy’s “Pink Cups for a Cure” campaign donated a portion of the proceeds from every large coffee purchased in a signature Pink Cup at any of Dandy’s 63 locations across the Twin Tiers. Meanwhile, Williams Auto Group’s “Drive Pink” initiative contributed $50 to the Guthrie Breast Care Fund for every vehicle sold at participating locations and $1 for every service appointment.
“We are deeply grateful for this generous contribution from the Dandy and Williams Auto Group organizations. Their support will significantly aid in our efforts to assist breast cancer patients within our local communities,” Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO of Guthrie said.
“We are so proud to have raised over $70,000 to support breast cancer patients in the Southern & Northern Tiers,” said Dalton Williams, Vice President Williams Companies. “Each year our teams at Dandy and Williams Auto Group are passionate about the community and supporting these initiatives. Our goal was to raise over $60,000 to help our local community and we are pleased to have surpassed that goal.”
