Several area fire departments responded to a structure fire in Ulster early Saturday morning.
When firefighters arrived at the home on Saco Road just after 6 a.m., they discovered the homeowner, who was able to escape without injury and also saved his dog from the fire.
Units confirmed a working structure fire with heavy flames coming from the residence.
Firefighters from Ulster-Sheshequin, North Towanda, Athens Township and Smithfield Township responded to the incident along with the Ulster EMS and Guthrie EMS.
