A fire broke out at the Page Manor in Athens Borough on Monday afternoon, but quick work by local firefighters prevented it from spreading.
According to the Bradford County Department of Public Safety, a fire was reported at the senior living center shortly after 4:30 p.m. The Athens Borough Fire Department made entry into a fourth floor apartment which was well involved in fire.
All apartments in the eight-story complex were searched and evacuated.
Due to the incredible efforts of the first responders, the fire was contained to one apartment with minor smoke damage to other areas.
Greater Valley EMS transported one patient to the hospital for medical evaluation.
The Athens Borough Fire Department was assisted by firefighters from Sayre, Athens Township and North Towanda. Waverly Barton and Litchfield provided standby coverage during the incident.
