Former Bradford County District Attorney Chad Salsman will remain in prison after a federal magistrate ruled against him in a recent court decision.
According to The Daily Review, Salsman filed a petition before United State Magistrate Judge Susan Schwab after the state parole board reversed a Jan. 25, 2024 decision to grant him parole before he was released from prison.
The parole board reversed the decision in March of 2024, citing new information including a negative recommendation from the prosecuting attorney as well as the nature of the crime.
Salsman pleaded guilty to witness intimidation, obstruction of justice and promoting prostitution in May of 2021. He was accused of coercing sexual favors from his clients when he was working as a private attorney.
He was sentenced to 1 1/2 to five years in state prison for sex crimes against five women in July of 2021.
Salsman is scheduled to be released from prison in July of 2026 if he serves his entire sentence.
