Guthrie hospitals receive national recognition for excellence in stroke care

Sayre, Pa. – Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital and Guthrie Corning Hospital have been honored by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association with the Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Awards.

“This prestigious recognition underscores Guthrie’s steadfast commitment to providing stroke patients with the highest quality care, adhering to the most up-to-date, evidence-based guidelines,” a press release from Guthrie said.

Both hospitals were also honored with the association’s Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll Award, acknowledging their dedication to managing cardiovascular risks in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital received an additional recognition with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Award for its exceptional efforts in reducing door-to-needle times for eligible stroke patients treated with tPA, a critical factor in improving outcomes.
