A remarkable showing for Northeast Bradford softball came to an end Friday, with the team finishing second in the state.
The Lady Panthers fell12-2 in the PIAA Class A state championship to Union Area, which started strong with six runs in the first inning.
Northeast’s road to the state finals included a 7-6 win over Wellsboro to become NTL small school champions and a 9-0 shutout over Bucktail for the District IV Class A Championship.
This marks the most successful post-season run in school history.
