A preliminary report was released by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) on Thursday about the fatal plane crash in Bradford County that happened last month.Authorities said Scott Wilcox crashed a single-engine Zodiac plane approximately three miles from the Bradford County Airport.

Officials said the plane crashed about one minute after Wilcox took off. He had a student pilot certificate, according to the NTSB, several witnesses said Wilcox was practicing touch-and-go landings on a runway when the plane’s engine appeared to only produce partial power after the second landing, with the plane’s nose dipping three times during its climb.Wilcox made an emergency call over the radio and said he was trying to make it back to the airport. As he turned the plane back toward the airport, the left wing dropped and the plane fell to the ground.

The Bradford County Coroner’s Office said the crash was the man’s cause of death, not a medical condition. The NTSB says plane was last inspected in September of last year. The final NTSB report will take about a year.
