Pennsylvania State Representative Tina Pickett honored the McConnell family of South Waverly for their service in the fire department for over seven decades.
A memorial bench honoring the McConnell family was dedicated on Saturday at the Richard L. Bentley Community Park in South Waverly.
According to Pickett, there has been a member of the McConnell family in the fire service since 1948.
The fourth generation of the family continues the tradition of serving their community in the fire department today.
Pickett also presented the family with a citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives for their service.
