TUNKHANNOCK – Rep. Tina Pickett (R-Bradford/Wyoming) is reminding persons with disabilities living in the 110th Legislative District of a monthly outreach program at her district office in Tunkhannock designed to help them gain more independence through job training, counseling and other services.

Pickett has teamed up with My Center for Independent Living (MyCIL) to provide the free service on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon. MyCIL Outreach Coordinator Keith Loughney is available to meet with persons with disabilities and their families by appointment to help them access programs and resources.

“We are pleased to be able to offer this outreach program to members of the community seeking a self-sufficient lifestyle,” said Pickett. “MyCIL is a wonderful organization which has served persons with disabilities in 10 northeastern Pennsylvania counties for the last 35 years.”

Those interested in scheduling an appointment should please call 570-836-4777. Walk-ins are also accepted. Pickett’s office is located at 133 W. Tioga St. in Tunkhannock.

Based in Scranton, MyCIL offers five core services, including information and referral, skills training, peer mentoring, individual advocacy and transition assistance.
