Emergency repairs are set to begin next week on the damaged bridge in Troy Township. The bridge, which carries Route 6 over Sugar Creek, has been closed since it was struck and damaged by an oversized load on June 12.
Since the closure, PennDOT worked with industry partners to finalize a repair plan and identify material needs to complete the repairs.
On Monday, July 8, the contractor, J.D. Eckman, Inc., will begin mobilizing equipment and materials to the work site to begin the repairs to the bridge. The contractor will begin removal of the damaged truss members and heat straightening of the damaged members that are not being replaced.
