Ridgebury man gets 15 months to 7 years for sexually assaulting sleeping child

A Ridgebury man has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a child.

According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, 43-year-old Matthew Chapman has been sentenced to 15 months to seven years in state prison.

Chapman was found guilty of indecent assault and corruption of minors following a jury trial last year.

According to testimony at trial, Chapman assaulted the child on several occasions while she was sleeping.

In addition to his prison sentence, Chapman will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
