Rome man charged with breaking into church

A Rome man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a local church and stole multiple items.

According to police, 26-year-old Colton Poust burglarized the Rome Presbyterian Church and stole items with a total value of over $2,400 dollars.

The church provided Pennsylvania State Police with security footage of the incident, which occurred at around 4:37 a.m. on Dec. 7.

Troopers interviewed Poust on Dec. 11 and the suspect confessed to the church burglary. He brought the clothes he wore during the incident and told police that he returned some of the stolen items.

Poust is facing charges including second degree felony burglary and second-degree criminal trespass.
