Sayre Area School District unveils $22.8 million budget

The Sayre Area School District has unveiled a $22.8 million dollar budget proposal for the 2025-26 school year at a school board meeting on Monday.

According to the Bradford Sentinel, the spending plan includes a 1 percent tax increase but much of the increase will be covered by homestead and farmstead exemption updates.

The proposed tax increase equals $5.76 per $10,000 of assessed value.

In the new budget, the school district will increase its fund balance by $400,00, going from $1.5 to $1.9 million dollars.

The budget proposal began a 30-day review period on Monday. The spending plan can be reviewed on the school district website or in the business office.

A final budget vote is scheduled for June 16.
