Sayre residents are expressing their concerns about a possible move by the Sayre Area School District to outsource its cafeteria and custodial services.

The Sayre School Board passed two motions in early February to solicit requests for proposals for outsourcing the services starting on July 1.

Since then, members of the public have voiced their disapproval over the possible move, saying the potential financial savings are not enough to justify the change.

The Sayre School Board has yet to vote on the potential outsourcing of custodial and cafeteria services.

There will be a public hearing on the subject on Monday, April 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sayre High School auditorium.
