A Sayre teenager has been sentenced to a minimum of six months in jail for involuntary manslaughter following a fatal car accident that occurred last August.
According to the Bradford County District Attorney’s Office, 19-year-old Ocean A. Hobbie was sentenced to six months to two years in jail followed by 37 months probation.
The accident took place at the intersection of Milan Road and Laurel Hill Road in Smithfield Township when Hobbie ran a stop sign and hit another car, causing that vehicle to strike a pole and catch fire.
The driver of the second vehicle was killed and two others were injured in the crash.
Hobbie was not under the influence during the time of the crash, but she was driving with a suspended license.
